Certified SCRUM Master/Product Owner, are these qualifications worth it?

Has anyone become a Certified Scrum Master or Product Owner? If so, are these certifications worth the time and money and do employers actually value them? I am one of those Agile practioners who values experience over qualifications and wondered if it was worth getting one of these certifications to add to my many years of working on agile projects

I have been a CSM since 2011 it was really good foundation knowledge, although I had been practicing Agile for many years before doing the training and am a signature on the Agile Manifesto.

As the other respondent says Agile is a learning experience, the courses mainly help in fixing processes that others have made up and called Agile, that frankly will never work.

I became a CSM last year. I was new to Scrum and taking the course clarified some aspects for me, although this could have been done in other ways.

I did the course for interest and to help me work more effectively. I didn't think it would help too much with looking for work and I still feel that way.

For me the course was just the beginning of a journey into Scrum, I've been applying it on a daily basis for about a year now and have learned significantly more about Scrum in that 1 year period than I could have done in 2 days of CSM.

Qualifications like this can demonstrate that at least one other person believes you understand and can apply the content, something that wouldn't necessarily be apparent if you did not take a course.
